3 Ways to Wear: Jade (Black)

1 belt, 3 looks.

*UPDATE* The Jade belt is no longer available on our website, however the following style tips can still apply to many of the Black belts in our current collection!

If you’re the kind of person who loves to wear their favourite accessories all the time, there’s nothing more disheartening then when they only go with a limited number of clothes. The solution? Choose a versatile accessory that every outfit can be styled around. Minimally designed pieces are the key to a transitional wardrobe, but a little decoration makes it worth looking at. That’s why we’re focusing on Jade in Black today.

So what’s so special about Jade? This classic black belt is your fashion lifesaver, as it’s in a colour that is guaranteed to go with anything. Made with smooth black leather, Jade features a rounded square leather-covered buckle with a gold border around the edges. And at a regular width of 25mm, it can be worn around several areas of your body. Many of the tips in this blog can still apply to the other black Stephen Collins belts you own, too!

Monochrome Grunge

Monochrome is a classic colour trend that will never go out of fashion. Your Jade belt will work excellently when worn around the hips, against a pair of black skinny jeans (we love the black-on-black look). Wear with a tucked-in white/cream shirt and black boots. You could even incorporate a few flecks of gold throughout your outfit by including gold studs to your blouse, zips on the jeans and gold panels on your boots. This styling adds a contemporary twist to our favourite black-and-white trend, and it compliments Jade’s gorgeous gold border on the buckle. The result has a hint of grunge, and can easily transition you from everyday wearing to night sophisticated night life.

The Cute Date

Got a cute date coming up? Make sure you’re dressed comfortably, yet ever-so-stylishly, and the date will go with ease. We think a cute burgundy skater dress and oversized cream cardigan will be on point for this occasion, especially when the outfit is secured with Jade. We recommend tying her around the waist on the dress’ join line (for this you may need a smaller sized belt than usual). These three complimentary colours still retain some much needed warmth during these bitterly chilly winter days. Finish your cosy outfit off with a pair of thick black tights or leggings, and black flat pumps with some cute gold decoration.

The Work Look

We design belts for every occasion, and office-friendly Jade is no different with her professional, yet trendy appearance. She will work best as part of a chic colour blocking outfit, like above. We recommend wearing a tucked-in skin tone sleeveless blouse, with a high-waisted black pencil skirt (a little ruffle on top will add an interesting dimension and draw the eye to the belt around your lower waist). This sophisticated ensemble will look all the better for including a belt. Bring the colours in together with a soft gold bead bracelet.
